Recently I purchased about a dozen shrinked modules from a seller off eBay. They were advertised as "new old stock" and "never been used".

As it turns out, about half of them do not have the back seal that is common for the period (although to be honest, the harder to find ones did have the original seal, so I'm happy in that respect). So from what I know, these are not original shrinks.

With that in mind, I am contemplating a return. What is the protocol on this? I know it comes down to how much I wish to pursue this, but I'm curious to know what others have done when put in this situation.

The last re-shrink I got was in a terrible state (1/3rd photocopied replacements) once I opened it up - which I only did because it was obvious it was a used product that had been re-sealed. Wasn't worth me shipping it back as it came as part of a lot from the States and the postage would have been more than the item value. With re-shrinks you can never tell what you really have unless you open the shrink, which defeats the purpose. It's worth contacting the seller as he might be the sort who'll issue a refund without a fuss. Certainly can't hurt to ask and if what you say applies in this case, the seller not being aware that re-shrinking goes on, it might be of use for him to know it for future reference.

STS: you prb mis-interpreted what i was trying to say there.

the guys here are not what i would term "normal" buyers. you all have kinda unspoken questions and assume when you are buying. a luddite buyer will look at something, think "right its shrinkwrapped and therefore unused". thats what i am saying. a question to him, will just prb reveal that and then he could argue that if they are shrinkwrapped how they hell are they used? if they are re-shrinked, he may not know anything.

that being the kinda situation, would ebay be bothered to take any recourse?

thats all i am saying, not actually trying to complicate the matter. in his eyes, there may not be a thing wrong with it.

what about a fourth copy to colour in the pictures yourself?

When you get to this stage, the people who are paid to look after you only let you have crayons, and big non-toxic ones at that!!
