I always thought AuctionSieve had sniping features.  But, since the FAQ says it doesn't - what do people find works well (for free)?

totally agree with f_P_m! the charming side of ebay is the last minute of the auction: with an authomatic tool i think i would not even participate! ...as i already admitted: i am ill, i am a case of ossessive-compulsive character...

JBidWatcher works well, is free, and runs on Linux and Windows.

I use Windows Task Scheduler to pop a reminder to me that something is ending (usually by having it open Notepad with the link ready), and then I jump on it manually, and curse my internet connection when it doesn't work. I don't really call that sniping though, since I start about an hour before it ends, but sometimes, I'll wait for the last 2-3 minutes (I do that for items I'm very curious about.)

I've got JBid up and running - with a couple auctions to test it out, of course.  We'll see how it goes...

if i really want an item then my evil profligate twin appears (a la James Nesbitt in Jekyll) ....scarey... but there's is the certain thrill in panicking to win at the end ..

i have used a bunch of them i think www.bidnip.com is the best.

auctionsniper has a 1% fee on auctions that have a final price over $25- so if you win an item for $500 thats an extra $5 - bidnip has no such fees their snipes cost me 16 cents a snipe because i bought 250 snipes for $39

you can also buy like 20 snipes for $5 if you only need a few snipes.

Although when possible I prefer to pull the trigger myself
