How do I contact an ebay seller

about ending an auction early without having the question appear on the auction.  And is this something that ebay boots people for or is it ok to do?

It for a Dark Sun box set.  The person has the minimum bid at 20 and the BIN at 25 and I don't think it will get any bids at those prices.  i was gonna offer to buy it for less, but fair price and wanted to know if it is ok to do this.

Did the auction entirely disappear, or did it just announce the end of the auction?

When an auction ends, then EBay usually makes the "contact seller" button disappear.

You can still contact the seller by clicking on his name and then contacting him through his feedback/history page.  Cut and paste the item number into your message.

If the auction totally disappeared...well...can you remember the guy's Ebay identity?

Well if it doesn't sell, I suppose you can send him an offer for less then the $20 (trying to do it while the auction is going on would be futile, as someone may come along and bid or even use the BIN).

Edit: Heck you could even send him that email now, I doubt he'd post it to his auction, just don't presure the guy with take this amount or forget it..that usually goes bad.
