Hi,
I'm a big Spelljammer fan
I founded
Spelljammer Wiki (the encyclopedia of Spelljammer canon) and I also have taken over looking after a product information website called
The Book House on The Piazza. Spelljammer Wiki needs to have pages of every official product connected to Spelljammer. For The Book House, that goes beyond Spelljammer to all of the D&D settings and editions, and I want to cover a larger range of products.
Nobody in the Spelljammer community that I've spoken to seems to have ever seen any of the RPGA Spelljammer adventures.
I've found some great information about later RPGA product lines on The Acaeum, but there is very little information online about the RPGA products for Spelljammer. And the other places doing the same sort of research (
RPG Geek,
RPG Net and Tome of Treasures) don't seem to have anyone who has seen these adventures.
I've been looking on eBay for years, as expired actions generally have cover pictures of unusual D&D products on them, but have l never bumped into anyone who owns this. So I'm guessing that everyone that has this wants to keep it or that most if not all of the copies have been thrown away.
I finally managed to find out that an adventure called
The Unsung, Fantastic & Perilous Expedition of Ironhelm Jones' Rock Bottom Dwarven Mining Company was published in August 1990 and written by Jean Rabe.
The
Best 50 Years in Gaming: AD&D Game SPELLJAMMER page I found information on was very useful. (You lot might want to dig around for details on things you are interested in.) The page says that this was a 1 round event. (I've heard that other RPGA adventures had 2 or 3 rounds, or even different versions of the adventures for high and low level PCs.) Unfortunately for me
Best 50 Years in Gaming is focused on what events were run at GenCon, rather than on providing information on the actual adventures. So it's been very helpful, but I still need more details.
Does anyone know of an RPGA fan who might have a copy of this? I'd like to find out how many pages there are in the adventure. And - if possible - I'd love to be able to get a scan of the front page, that has the blurb about the adventure written on it (same as you have in your information pages here - and the same as is done on
RPG Geek).
According to Echohawk's
Spelljammer Collector’s Guide Revisited other RPGA adventures for Spelljammer include:
- His Majesty's Spacial Service by Tom Prusa and Sam Adams and
- One on Every Planet by Tom Prusa
There may be more adventures that Echohawk has not managed to track down. (I know there are RPGA adventures for other D&D settings that have a Spelljammer tie-in.)
