Hi all
I have picked up a copy of this recently. Looking at the back cover, there is a black metal bar sticker placed at an angle across the barcode like a thick black line. Has anyone come across this before on this or other TSR books and what does it mean?
Thanks,
Ian

It typically serves two purposes. One, to keep the item from being scanned at the counter during a sale. Used (out of print) books are generally not entered into a computer system by their UPC. Two, It could be an RFID tag to mitigate five finger discounting at the store. It is not something that was placed onto the book by TSR.

Thanks for that, I wondered what is was for and thought it was post-production/retail. With some older comics, the lines were drawn across the barcode during the early years of direct editions by the publishers.
