How do you insure shipments well over $1k? I just realized my "declared" fedex value doesn't mean anything. Fedex insurance is caped at $1k for collectables. Regardless if I am am sending things in to be graded, or selling an item on ebay, how do you insure over $1k? I didnt find what I was looking for on USPS. Do they have better shipping insurance?

dosselmeyer,

Maybe you can answer? How does CGC insure over $1k when I get my items back from Fedex? Is that just a company policy you all cover? And its not with Fedex?

Edit: This isnt always for high priced items. I sent 20 mono first prints in for grading at once. I would value these nice condition items at more than $50 each. Edited...

I guess you didn't send them to CGC. Modern magazine tier is $25 with up to $400 value. If you have a higher membership, it's discounted off that price. I've mentioned that I don't really recommend pressing modules as the cardboard is thicker and most creases won't press out.

I'm not sure about CGC shipping insurance as that is not my dept. As for shipping over $1k, I used UPS to ship a comic valued $10k. It was a bit expensive, but it was better than having it lost, stolen or damaged.
