Gen Con worth attending for collectors?

I have never been to Gen Con and I was wondering, from those that have, if there are any vendors selling older D&D product in the vendor room?

I am struggling a bit to enjoy collecting while staring at an ebay, craig's list, or used bookstore website and wonder if any of the larger conventions might be an avenue to explore?

There will probably be a few vendors selling used/older D&D items in the main exhibit hall. More likely though would be to attend the Gen Con auction, which also has a fixed price store for the more common items submitted.

There was a time when Gen Con and other conventions had a lot of older D&D collectibles, but not so much anymore. Now there are probably only a handful of vendors in the exhibit hall that have older D&D products.

The auction at Gen Con still has quite a few older items, and the prices are decent. Friday night is the "Rares" auction, which hasn't been that good in recent years. Some of the other auctions, like the ones at Gamehole, NTRPGCon, and Gary Con are decent too, especially if you are looking for some of the rarer items.

Since this coming year is the 50th anniversary of Dungeon & Dragons, that might be a good time to attend Gen Con.

Sorry i have a problem with the dates: 2024 should be the 50th anniversary, being the first d&d box published in Jan 1974... this year is the 49th anniversary if math isn't an opinion...
Where am i wrong?

March 10, 2023 + 366 days ('this coming year,' & 366 because it includes a Leap Day) = March 10, 2024, well within the 50th anniversary, maybe?

Oh, ok! As usual it is a problem of semantic! In my language "coming year" is referred to the solar year... it is difficult to elaborate a concept of pro rata temporis in such circumstances.
