My guess is they're legitimate, but not highly valuable except as a curiosity. Obviously they're great condition orange spines -- but they're not exactly in the same realm as the
PHB that Stormber has up at the moment. I'd say
Foul bid about right on them, I think the winner was speculation (possibly a shill, but more likely
newbie enthusiasm) as they don't have a large history of bidding on D&D products.
Google for "Corvon" and you'll see lots of printing pages come up. Presumably that's what the MMII and
PHB covers are made out of. Someone with more printing knowledge can elaborate, perhaps.
