There is a seller on eBay that has up the special dragon magazine pull outs like this one.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I loaded up the archive and was looking for this one and it's not present in the PDF.  I thought the idea of the archive was preservation. I'm really pissed about it not being there.   :x

I'm curious now how many other holes there are.

I haven’t checked, but I understand that the Dragon Magazine Archive was pretty heavily redacted to remove advertisements and artwork that was not specifically commissioned or purchased by TSR.

They were sensitive to the idea that they may be sued on account of never actually owning the digital rights to most of the stuff they were going to publish, and they didn’t actually want to have to pay anyone anything for their IP either. They would rather just ‘assume consent’ of the digital rights and hope they didn’t get sued. As it turned out their balls were bigger than their backbones.

Being a pull out, it was probably pulled out for that reason. The whole product was pulled pretty quick and not talked about ever again, so I suspect they tried to hush the whole copyright theft thing up and brush it under the carpet before they faced a class action lawsuit.

Ironically, that paved the way for copyright theft from the industry on a mass scale, and the whole PDF digital revolution never looked back. Now everything WotC ever published is virtually free to anyone with an internet connection, and this is the very seed for the whole copyright theft revolution.

I don’t have hardcopy of the magazines to compare.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I think I remember reading something like that way back when.  I thought nothing of it I guess.  Digital rights and yada, yada, yada was boring to my younger self.  It was a huge disappointment that the first thing I try to look up in the archive it's not there.

Way back when, it was one of the best things I bought on account of me growing up outside of the US and Dragon not being available for the most part. There was also a Mad Magazine Archive about the same time, but I didn't get that. So I never really missed any of the missing bits, cos what you got for your money was worth the price. These days I wouldn't pay what eBayers ask for because it just isn't worth the money in this day and age when they're all online anyways. I might go and see if I can find a copy on Google.

There were several such omissions, but WotC did publish some patches that added several missing inserts. I think I have the files archived on my site, will dig around.

Thanks Allan, the old wizards link for the patch doesn't work anymore...

Those were the bits missing from the pullout games they did publish.
Worth downloading if you didn't do it back in the day (or can't find them in your archive as was the case for me.)
I haven't searched for it online, but I'd imagine it's not there, because the one thing the Dragon Magazine Archive did do was deter anyone else from scanning them and uploading them to the web. Why do it when WotC have already done a half-assed job of doing it already, and all that.

Many thanks Allan.  Did you scan that?  This group will never cease to amaze me with how helpful and courteous it is.

Edit:  I just had to laugh...one creature is called an EXPLODESTOOL.  Which obviously only attacks after one too many tacos has been consumed.   :D
