When I picked up a copy of Gygax Magazine #6 at the time it came out it was in shrink. Was it released this way? Were there mailed subscription copies? I can't remember.

I don't believe any of my Gygax Magazines were delivered/mailed in shrink.   8)

I bought the "subscription model" of Gygax magazine and went all in for the 6 issues when it came out.  None came shrinkwrapped, but they did come in a mailing envelope.  As delays happened, my last subscription issue was #5 and I never got issue #6 until I ran into Ernie Gygax at Gary Con some years back when #6 was supposedly released.  To my surprise it was and I bought a copy from him so I could complete the run.  Hope this helps.

Mine is in a box someplace but I seem to remember #6 in shrink.

Available now from Die Cast Games: Night of the Black Swords by Allen Hammack (Author of C2-The Ghost Tower of Inverness) with artwork by Jeff Easley and Diesel.

You both are probably correct.  I did not buy my #6 in shrink as I bought it directly from Ernie and it wasn't in shrink so that's all I have to go by.  He signed it before giving it to me and after reading it I put it in the collection next to the other issues and haven't read it in a while.
