I uhhh, don't know what to say about these prices.  While the Greyhawk shown is not a first print, the prices are crazy.  However, they are not crazy enough to make me part with my first prints of these books!

I'm with you but it sure is tempting.

Laughing a little that I never could find a Swords and Spells 1st print because I kept losing on high grade copies with my typical high bid of $30-45 (including shipping). About a year ago I just stopped worrying about it, if it doesn't happen it doesn't. Now at least I know I'm REALLY not going to get one for that  :P  At least not any time soon.

Don't give up hope on finding that 1st print.  I acquired my Blackmoor through Swords and Spells first prints with only Blackmoor showing a hint of wear at least seven-eight years ago.  At the same time period, I was looking for a Greyhawk first print.  It took me three years later to get that thanks to someone who misspelled "Greyhawk" as "Grayhawk" and did not categorize it as a "Dungeons & Dragons" supplement but rather as a wargaming supplement.  I bought an almost unused great shape first print from someone who was largely selling wargames and such and thought that Greyhawk was a nonsense book since it didn't fit within their definitions of a wargame.  Swords and Spells will be out there.  Just be patient and it will turn up sooner or later.  The problem with many (including myself in the past) is wanting to pull the trigger right away on things.  It took me losing many auctions to finally get the one I really wanted.  Now my collector interests are away from the big ticket things but are on rapidly price rising secondary things; things I should have pulled the trigger on years ago.  Oh well, collecting is fun!
