We've had this come up before fairly recently but not quite like yours.

Lighter-weight, flexible but rough-covered 6th Print DMG?With the different sized pages, my hypothesis of there being two different printers for the DMGs at this time is now probably blown out of the water. Because it looks like you have both page sizes in the same book. Are the first 16 pages thinner also than the rest of them?
It comes up frequently and has been verified by several sources that inconsistencies with the various Box Sets were just TSR people putting the stuff together and using up what was available. I've done production (not in gaming stuff) and I know first hand that a lot of odd stuff gets done and it's always about money or meeting a deadline.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's what is going on with these later than 3rd print DMGs that have been posted on here.
Transitional stuff and errors are a big deal ($$$$) in some other avenues of collecting, unfortunately that's not the case with D&D items (at least not yet) with a very few notable exceptions. Still, yours is very cool.
