Does anyone recall the paper fold up minis seen in Stranger Things?



They look just like ones I remember from Marvel Superheroes, which was also a TSR game, but I haven't found the answer yet.

If these ring a bell for anyone, let me know!

Oh, that's a good guess. I wasn't aware that paper fold-up minis came in that boxed set.  However, looking at it more closely, those appear to have darkened bases.

I did see some of the Steve Jackson Games Cardboard Heroes line of paper minis, but I'm not familiar enough with them either. When I looked specifically at the Fantasy line from that series, the art style and individual characters did not match. Also note that the SJG paper minis fold at the top, instead of a standing rectangular prism shape.



However, looking at the Marvel Superheroes line, the art style is a very close match (even if the genre and characters are a mismatch), which leads me to suspect that this was a TSR supplement of some kind.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Maybe someone else will recognize them.

Nailed it! Thanks, I've confirmed that you are exactly right.

If I recall correctly, Bloodstone Pass is name dropped in Season 1, a full couple of years before it came out.  I'll have to check on that.

dbartman wrote in paper miniatures used in stranger things:Not to split hairs, but the timing is a little off on Bloodstone Pass being available at this time of start of Season 3.  Season 3 starts in July, 1985.  Bloodstone Pass was released around August, 1985.  So unless they had an advanced copy, those cardboard buildings and figures probably weren't available yet.

Maybe this was a trivia Easter Egg or simply a movie goof...
