I have just come into possession of an Basic D&D blue box Holmes set.  As I flip through to check the condition, I noticed the following irregularities:  

Pages 9-16 are missing.  17-24 are present, and then immediately repeated.
Pages 25-32 are present, then repeated, followed by pages 33-40 missing.

It looks to be 6th printing, with B2 and an uncut chit sheet.  Anyway, I guess I am wondering:  Was this a common error?  Anyone ever seen this before?

Indeed this is extreme.  Just thought I'd check to ensure it wasn't from some bad printing that could be identifiably avoided.  Thanks!

All kidding aside (and there is quite a lot on this thread), share some photos with us. Holmes rulebooks sometimes do have weird errors, some more spectacular than others. I'd advise you not ship it back till you let some of us take a look, via your photos. It may well be genuine, after all, and certainly more interesting (and perhaps more valuable) than the same rulebook without any errors.
