Really it is supposed to be "rah - su - to ma - n - su - taa" (the Japanese letters above the English word) for rustmonster. However, if another Japanese person read that (which they did) and re-wrote the English word, not knowing how it was translated, then he or she could essentially come up with "lah - su - to .." and think it was supposed to be "lust".
