We've just got hold of a 2nd printing D&D Expert Set. Really nice condition and still has the dice and crayons unused and in a sealed plastic bag. So far, so good. However, what is puzzling me is that while the d4, d8, d10, d12 and
d20
are the dice you'd expect to see, the d6 has spots not numbers and doesn't seem to fit. Yet the plastic bag is unopened. Has anyone else ever seen a D&D set with dice like this? Or do you think the bag has been resealed with the wrong dice in it? Genuinely puzzled...

The d6 looks pretty generic to me. Perhaps it was a result of a d6 shortage, so they grabbed what they could find cheap. From what I can see, it may be the same type that Avalon Hill used, but I'm certainly no authority on dice.

Yeah, I would echo the above post that that looks like a standard d6 used in avalon hill games... For some reason I like those dark blue and green dice, more than say red, yellow and orange.

I agree that the dice shortage thing seems most likely. At least they didn't replace the number d6 with a cardboard chit!

Those aren't the bagged dice TSR put in that set.

Thanks Frank. Will amend our product description (and sadly reduce price a little bit!)
