Title says it all. On modules and magazines, should an attempt be made to remove them, or should they be left alone? If removing, what technique works best while protecting the item in question?

Unless you're reallllly good at removing them, leave hem where they are. Let the new owner handle it.

This really depends on the age, type, and location of the sticker.  Generally speaking, I won't even attempt at removing a sticker that's more than 10 years old.  For newer stickers, the secret is patience and small, evenly distributed picks and pulls.

Like Skull stated - it depends on the age and type of sticker. Some stickers are almost impossible to remove with out taking off some of what it is stuck to.
Also depends on what the material is. If it's stuck to something Glossy or not.

Example of something I own, I have a Players Handbook that someone put a sticker on the cover and no matter how careful I tried, there was no way to remove the sticker without taking off some of the cover ink. If I tried it again, maybe if I would have put some alcohol on the sticker to loosen it up first, that might have worked - but I don't know.

If you take a sticker off and it still has some residue of the adhesive on the cover or box. You can use rubbing alcohol to carefully clean it off, but you take a chance of removing some of the ink also or at least dulling it.

Post some pictures of what you are trying to work on, it'll be easier to advise you on what to do.

I will certainly do this, once we get settled into the new place (moving in a week).

Goo Gone works like a charm, have used it on all sorts of books and modules.

A couple modules, I have left them alone as the stickers are old and I like the way they look.
