Hello all,

So i recently realized that "somehow" my 2 boxes of Dragon mag and Dungeon mag have dissappeared (had Dragon 40 - 220 and Dungeon 1 - 50 more or less), so now have to rebuild the collection.

In so doing, I am looking for one specific piece of information: does anyone have a list of which issues had inserts, and what these were? I want to make sure I know the right questions to ask when bidding on e-bay or shopping elsewhere for back issues.

Right now, Noble Knight Games has a bundle of issues 176 - 224, but specifically states that inserts may be missing. Assuming all inserts were missing from these issues, how many of them would I need to replace down the road?

Hmm...so if I'm reading the Wiki correctly, from Dragon #176 to 224, 2 issues have a calendar, 1 has a poster, 1 has a gencon game fair insert, 1 has AD&D trading cards, 2 have a TSR holiday shopping guide, 1 has a spellfire game card list (all the previous extracted from banners on the Mag covers), and 1 has a CD.

I'm trying to figure if the following is worth the price:

The seller's description of VG is as follows: "May have medium sized creases, scuff marks, very small stain, etc. Complete and very useable." He does however specifically state that one should not expect any of the inserts to be present (I guess it's a bonus if any of them are there).

What is the opninion of those here on the value of this bundle? As I've stated in another post, I find myself in the unenviable position of having to rebuild my entire dragon mag and dungeon mag collection, so starting from scratch. I have only 6 overlaps in the range of issues in question, so I am adding 43 new issues to my collection, 9 of which may be missing inserts.

B TW, for my purpose, the wiki was useful, but somewhat difficult to read as I had to actually scan every cover, which I then had to compare to the table of contents to extrapolate whether the item was part of the mag, or a detached / detachable insert. If someone know of an actual authoritative list of inserts / issue number, it would make me feel a whole lot more confident in my research.

Noble Knight's prices are often double or triple what you can find elsewhere, and this listing is also overpriced.  You should be able to buy these issues for a dollar or two each, maybe less, if you are patient.  

Don't forget to check the various Facebook auction groups. There is a tight community there and often the prices are extremely reasonable.
I'm going to go out on a limb and plug my own group there, TSR Collector's Forum as a great resource for buying and selling.

I don't think $125 is a bad price for a very nice condition Dragon Archive, FWIW.

In terms of whether or not the Dragon Archive will get you the missing inserts, in general you should assume that it won't.  ...

I'm confused. Not sure why you are mentioning Dragon Archive. The auction that I referenced was a bundle of 49 physical issues of dragon magazine. Did I misinterpret your reply?
