I've been attempting to catalog (for my own collection) official D&D products produced/published by TSR and made available through  retail stores (i.e. hobby shops, book stores, etc...).  Even though TSR was purchased by WotC in 1997, I'm looking at products released up through 2000 (right up to the release of 3rd Edition).  For me, the trickiest part of this list is finding all of the smaller promotional items available to the public (so I'm not looking at store posters or cardboard stands, etc...) - also, determining which items were produced by TSR and which were produced by a 3rd party.  

During my research, I've found several pre-existing lists online - but so many of the items listed there are either vague in description, lacking an image or information on its year, or do not differentiate between TSR produced items / 3rd party produced  (i.e. APC, Sunsout, Ultimate Buckles Ltd UK, etc...) items / fan made (Forgotten Realms dice bag using Forgotten Realms patch) items.

Outside of some of the more straightforward additions to my list (like the TSR Gold Promo Items, Conspectuses, fast-play modules, or some older promotional items like the Invitation to Adventure or Understanding D&D), I'm hoping that some of the folks in this collecting community may have some information they're willing to share   .

To help begin framing my question - I've found numerous listings for the following items, but I can't find additional information on them (were they released and if so, were they released through retail stores? were they produced by TSR?):

- Baseball Hats with Dark Sun, Dragonlance, Planescape, or the standard Dungeons & Dragons logo emblazoned on them
- Mousepads with Birthright, Ravens Bluff, Ravenloft, or Planescape designs
- Planescape Blood Wars Promotional TShirt (were these shirts released by TSR to be given out at stores or a convention?)
- A myriad of cloth patches (AD&D 2nd Edition, Al-Qadim, Spelljammer, Dark Sun, Ravenloft, Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, Dungeons & Dragons) (were these released by TSR to be given out stores or a convention?)
-some vague references to AD&D buttons

I know this is a big question - I'm just taking a shot in the dark on these forums to gather any additional information that I can.  Thanks!  

Mars wrote in Promotional and Other Small D&D Items Released by TSR:Most of these items are all listed (and pictured) in the TSR catalogs for various years so were produced and available to retailers.  It was up to the individual game store on whether they wanted to stock these items or not - most chose not to.  Also, some items, like the belt buckles, pins, necklaces, were made in the UK (and appear in the UK TSR Catalogs) so were much more available there than in North America.

Thanks - I was thinking along those lines as well, but ran into some difficulty trying to run down the full range of vintage TSR catalogs.  Are you aware of any good online resource for back issue catalog scans?

There were also sweatshirts available with the various product line logos embroidered on them.  I still have a Planescape shirt here somewhere.

These were offered for sale by retailers along with a host of other printed t-shirts produced by TSR.  Again, I have a (very battered) Blood Wars tee somewhere in my collection[/quote]

I do recall these being sold via retail stores.  I got most of mine via the TSR Mail Order Hobby Shop and at the TSR castle at Gen Con.

I have several buttons that were given out at retail stores as promotional items - a "Dragon Month '93 button" stands out in my mind.  I don't recall seeing any buttons offered for sale though.
