Hey Foul,  does this mean that if an honest collector living in China puts erroneously his orange B3 with a Bin of 20 bucks,  we are not able to spot that auction here at the acaeum?!?  ...this is terrible!  We would miss the best hits...  

Well, it's part of my plan to corner the market on orange B3's offered unknowingly for $20.

And I shouldn't say "bad".  I should say "rife with counterfeits and with no place offering the good citizens of eBay a glass of water, much less a collectible".

For a real hoot, compare the Auction Hunter "browse" results of the Antiques category with the version on eBay itself.  Eye-opening.

There was another "Lost Caverns of the Tsojconth" listed at $28.80 from hvuw328240957_6, but the listing has been removed and the seller is "No longer a registered user". Became an eBay member on 10/05/17  

I did inquire about the Lost Caverns and this is the reassuring response I received:
Hi, friends,
I have for your shipping products,
I believe the product will bring pleasure.
And I promise you will receive it in 25-35 days,
You know the product is very cheap to sell you.
So we can not provide tracking numbers.
But do not worry about any problems.

I had to look up the 4th print OD&D set I won for someone in a FB group and just searched the title of the listing and noticed the same exact listing had been sold again two weeks after I bought it by a Chinese seller with a $20 BIN (I thought I got a pretty good deal on mine but not that good). So obviously that one was BS.

I started thinking about it - of course Paypal is going to refund your money on this, so I guess Paypal is the one getting screwed on these in the end with their Buyer Protection Plan. I'd assume that the Paypal account for the seller is opened on a bogus Credit Card & Bank account that then evaporates when Paypal tries to get the money back from them.
I'd also assume that when Paypal loses enough money, they'll force eBay to crack down on this.

Interesting thing though. Foul's blocking Chinese sellers of old RPG stuff is definitely a good call. Not that it would be impossible for a Chinese seller to have this stuff but it's just too unlikely and no way are they going to sell this stuff for pennies on the dollar when they have a super hot Market for it right over in Japan.

But on things that are not this type of stuff. There are plenty of good Chinese Sellers and the shipping is cheap because the Chinese Government subsidizes the shipping. Clothing, Electronics, Pottery, etc. - the same stuff that is being barged over and sold in our stores is available from Chinese sellers on eBay.

I needed to replace my Sennheiser Ear Pad foams, they were $20 at Best Buy and 99¢ plus 49¢ shipping from a Chinese seller on eBay. Took 4 days to receive them and the quality was better than the originals. I feel bad for US sellers, how can someone compete against that - it's crazy.

This could also be one of the reasons that Ebay has removed access to buyer email addresses (even in Paypal) - so as not to give out email address of people who have fallen for a scam and could be a target again.  Their main reason being they want to stop off Ebay sales but this sounds like a good excuse for justification.

I hadn't noticed they had removed this info from paypal...

Looks like the are going through doing high priced items $200+ of course if doesn't quite work when you copy a ebay listing like this..

I just ran across a listing for a 4th print OD&D set with a couple of other items yesterday being sold by one of those phony Chinese EBayers. I happened to notice the photo was taken from a fairly recent US sale. I was about to alert the seller from the US about this (as a seller that has a listing 'stolen' has more clout with EBay than any schmuk that just happens by), but then I could not locate the fake auction again.

So, the fake auctions are using fake photos at the very least. No real items in hand.
