Hi guys,

Through a good deal with a contact in Oslo I have gotten a pair of copies of the norwegian basic d&d hardback rulebook.

I wonder how much I could get if I advertise an auction in eBay.com, or if I would fare better if i try to sell it directly.

Anyone know what would be the market price for it? Condition grade is around EX+, the other copy is absolutely mint.

I could post some pictures if someone is willing tohelp me.

Im a collector in Spain. I built my collection mainly by trading with US folks but the last years I focused on foreign editions, as the few US items I am missing are mainly the ones that need truly deep pockets (Up the garden path, woodgrain boxes,  and such)

Frankly, for example, a portuguese or norwegian edition mentzers red box has taken me through a real pain to get. It is not just like fishing on the forums or ebay. Most of these owners only speak their local language so sometimes I have even traveled to that country to get a copy.

It would be great if I can find other folks collecting these foreign rarities, so I can fill the few holes I have in my collection, by trading copies each other miss. My best bet is the Acaeum, but if you know any other place where I can find international edition d&d collectors, please point me that way. I'll truly appreciate it.

Hi Alex, I already own the italian BECMI material, but I know there is one special version of the ad&d 2nd ed. manuale del master and manuale del giocatore, that come within a plastic sleeve, with dice and such.

If you have those we could talk about some kind of trade

I believe it is a bit more elusive, yes. Already the red book is a PAIN to find. In all my research in years I found 3 copies, and 2 of them I had to visit Norway in person to find them. The best one is in my collection, then a VG condition I sold for around 275 bucks, and a minty one that will sell soon for over 600 bucks.

The blue book I only have one copy, in my collection, so I do not know how much it can fetch. I have never, ever seen one up for auction anywhere though.

Yup, few of us focus on the international licenses. I however find many of them much rarer, difficult to find, and a more interesting challenge for the d&d collector than sticking to the original US material.

Perhaps it is because it involves dealing with different cultures, dealing with translations,... I am also passionate about how different cultures and languages have adopted d&d.

I know a woodgrain box may mean much more for d&d history than a norwegian d&d expert rulebook. But I can just buy a woodgrain anytime f i just have the dough, while finding the blue norwegian book involves completing a near-epic quest and investing A LOT of time and research...

The latter is what really keeps my collecting flame going strong. The former I do not longer care.
