Bill
Having difficulty getting in contact with you, if you would please drop me a PM. I have a question about an order I placed over at Pacesetter.
Thanks

Seems a fairly familiar story.

Problem with Pacesetter Games and bbarsh.

After waiting a year for a module I have never purchased anything from Pacesetter again.

Releases and shipments are often slow, but communication is usually decent when I email him and everything has always arrived. I've not received a reply to multiple emails since before NTRGPCON.

Bill is a stand-up guy and will come through, but real life screws the hell out of a one man business.

I wish I lived near enough to him to help him out and get you guys your stuff and answer emails or pms. I think posting here is good place to get his attention.

I've PM'd and emails multiple times since June to no avail. Just looking to confirm my remaining 2013 subscription items (and now 2014 subscription items) are safely set aside. I'm not so concerned about when I actually get them, but would be nice to get a big package when the Cataclysm box ships.

I have steered clear of buying for the last few years.  Bought a couple of mods....but after numerous emails confirming my address nothing.. No mods or refund.

Any news on Bbarsh on this. I realise he is an Acaeum stalwart but the amount of slack being given must surely run out soon.

I met Bill last year at GenCon so I was comfortable buying 4 books from him this year through his Pacesetter store (I missed GenCon this year)...

... but I haven't heard from him about my order, and he hasn't responded to numerous emails through multiple channels.  I'm a patient man but communication is a big thing in my book.

Disappointed, to say the least.

I ordered some modules on August 22nd.  Site says that orders ship in 48 hours.  I waited two weeks and nothing arrived in the mail so I sent an email to Bill.  He responded the same day and said that a) there was a printing error with one of the modules and b) they ship directly from the printer.  That was a few days ago and I'm waiting to hear back about the order status.

At this point I'm fine with waiting and he did respond to me in less than 24 hours.  I suspect there may be an issue with the printer shipping things directly.  If he isn't there to run the business and keep a modest inventory on hand, he is at the mercy of this third party.  I've seen his products at GenCon and believe they are worth the wait.

Clearly, it ran out a while ago for some.

It probably has to do with how he has dealt with the individual members on here. I have not had that many issues with Pacesetter Games other than an occasional late shipment (two or three times since their doors opened). With it being, for all intents and purposes, a one man show, I can understand that sometimes there are issues in real life that will delay orders. CAVEAT : I have always received the items I have ordered - just some later than others. If I ordered from them a couple of times and never received anything, I would be as vocal (or more so), than most on here.

I think the last I heard from Bill was that something happened in real life but I can't remember if it was in an email or on here. The next to last order I made (NTRPGcon modules in June) was received in August after I had sent two emails (one in July and one in August) asking if he had a chance to get those shipped out yet. I also ordered the GenCon modules but haven't heard anything about them yet. I figure give him a couple of weeks to relax and get things back into order after the convention and I'll send him an email. As long as he continues to produce and ship modules to me, I'll continue to support him. Just my 2 cents.

Keep up the good work Bill!

Well, I'd be willing to wait months for books *IF* a simple response was returned by one of the 3-4 emails, Acaeum PMs, etc.  All I'm asking for is simple communication.

<rant> When did it become acceptable for people not to communicate, especially since we now have devices that let us do that from anywhere all the time.  </rant>

Oh well.

Just for the record, I am in no way doing down Bbarsh`s product, far from it in fact.

The problem we are seeing here is one of communication and trust. Repeatedly we have seen posts suggesting long delays, and comments from various members suggesting that `real life` has gotten in the way of business. I think that maybe many people are giving Bbarsh the benefit of the doubt from some perceived loyalty, that they almost certainly would not give if he were not an Acaeum member of many years standing. This is not the first thread of this type by any means and I really don`t see that anything has changed over the years. I am fully aware that things happen that are beyond an individual's control, but it is up to that person to deal with such issues as soon as they arise, such is the cost of doing business;people have paid their hard earned money in good faith and deserve to know what is going on, such as printing errors or if any delays are likely to occur in shipping. I would personally be contacting PayPal/my credit card company because the time for such actions quickly expires, and then the poor buyer does not have much of a leg to stand on.
EBay may have many faults in its feedback system but it can be very useful, it is something that you do not get the benefit of when buying from a private web-store.

Another thing I personally find odd is the lack of comment here, maybe it would not do much real good but I can't help but feel that I would post on a thread that has my name as a title.

I hope that everyone has things resolved to their satisfaction, and that they confirm here that this is the case - the products from Bbarsh that I have owned have been universally good and they deserve to be in the hands of those, such as the members here, that will appreciate them.

Carl

My cell phone number is 248-318-1292.

Anyone with any unresolved issues should call or text me Friday after 7 pm CST or anytime Saturday or Sunday. Of course you can email or pm, but at this point, it might be best to go this route. I will spending the ALL weekend and Friday night working on back orders and screwed up orders. There are more than a few, but ALL of them will be shipped by Monday morning. If there is a problem with getting that done, an email will be sent with a concrete mailing date.

I can only say that I am sincerely sorry for delayed orders. This summer was just horrible. I will not discuss my personal life on the internet, but I will certainly answer any questions directly by phone. That said, I still far behind on way too many things. That is why I have set the entire weekend, including Friday night to getting caught up.

Feel free to send an email or pm. I will tackle my backlog of emails Saturday afternoon and pms sometime after that. Simply, I am that far behind. But I am committed to getting things set right. Everyone who has something outstanding will get their order.

I want to thank everyone who posted on this thread, good or bad. I am sorry I could not respond sooner, as I had no idea it was even here until a member contacted me directly. Right now I am working on a construction project that has me working 6 am to around 7 pm M-F. I have no internet service during that time.

Respectfully,
Bill

A solid and decent response, you`ve certainly put yourself out there, which can only bode well for those with outstanding orders. I hope that any problems (both Pacesetter related and personal) are behind you, and that you continue to pump out product that you clearly have a passion for.
