What you probably want to do is put the smelly ones in a box with a deodurizer (probably cost about $5) and let it sit for a few weeks - unless you see signs of active mold ,etc.

I have had very good luck with clay-based kitty litter... the non-scented kind.  I bought an old yearbook that was very musty smelling.  So I put a layer (a few inches) of the litter at the bottom of an empty kitty litter tub.  Then I put a couple of wooden blocks on the litter and  put the musty old book on the blocks above the litter.  I sealed the lid on the litter tub.  Every few days I went back in and moved the book around slightly to expose the interior pages to the air.  Once or twice I also removed the book and added another thin later of litter on the old one.  In a couple weeks the book was about 90% better.  I could only detect a very slight smell if I put my nose right up to the book.
