Aside from PayPal, what are alternate payment methods that are allowed on EBay? I have seen some state that if the potential buyer requests a different method, the seller can choose to accomodate, but the seller absolutely cannot initiate a discussion in mesages or the listing itself. Links on other boards pointing to information on EBay's site are all outdated, referring to pages on EBay that have since been updated. I have since not been able to find info that supports this assertion.

Anyone know of something like this?

Nothing is allowed on Ebay but Paypal.  HOWEVER, if the buyer requests another method and the seller agrees, they can use any method they wish. Ebay does discourage this and a seller is not allowed to advertise they take other methods of payment nor present that information to the buyer.

I know in the past few years I've taken a check or money order a handful of times, all initiated by the buyer. Ebay/Paypal hates this as they don't get a piece of the pie.

Yeah, that's the story I've heard. Any links to that effect on EBay's site though? The ones I came across seem to have been supplanted by new info that does not mention this.
