I haven't got one yet - I probably will in the end though. I do think they look completely cheesy ( but then when was quality art and design the main reason I collect this stuff :) )... But looking at the back of one of the new auctions for these I noticed... "All seven books have been carefully updated..." and I thought Hmmm, I wonder, just layout or are they changing the artwork inside or the rules? Anyone got one yet?

I preordered mine on Amazon in March. They have a ship date of some time in December...which doesn't help me at all. No idea what's going on with these. Are they early release to game shops, and late on Amazon? Beats me.

It's on my Christmas list, and if I get one, will be one of the few items I will unseal and go through.  I too am intrigued by the "updated" wording...

Buy two ... one for the shelf and one to open :)

Have you got any recommendations for the best place to get one over here?

The one I won on eBay arrived over the weekend. It is in shrink with the age sticker on it and the insert on the bottom is not in some foreign language, still a good deal ;-)

I have two of these that my distributor sent me in still in unopened boxes.  I wll sell them for $100 each if anyone wants one.  Shipping is extra at cost whichever method you prefer.  Send me a pm if interested.

I just pulled the trigger on the pre-order from Amazon for $101.24, sending as an X-mas gift to friend in CA. After gift wrap, shipping, & tax it came to $121.23, but I applied for an Amazon card and got $30 OFF, so all-in cost was $91.23  :santa:

Is this a future 'collectible'?  Are they limited in some way?

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

It seems like many places such as Amazon.com are out-of-stock on these already.  I don't think Amazon.ca ever got these in but I think there are probably many still on gamestore shelves.

Noble Knight has some copies at closer to retail price but listed as "In Print: No".

Anyone know if WotC is going to print more?  Will Amazon.com get a restock?  Or is that it.

I had a few preordered on amazon from like February of last year.  I totally forgot until they showed up Friday.  So either they made more or found more or something.

I preordered mine in March, and haven't gotten a single one yet. If you had your order in February, maybe they are going in order? Gives me slightly more hope that I'll get one in the mail eventually.

I was doing a bit further looking and it seems like the problems might strictly be an amazon thing.

Here's a thread from Dragonsfoot: Dragonsfoot • View topic - [WotC] OD&D reprint delayed?

It seems a lot of people had no luck with Amazon so they cancelled their order and switched to buying it from Barnes & Noble.

I also pre-ordered back in february? (Or around then).  Amazon sent me an email in November saying there was a delay and offering to cancel my order.  I decided to wait and the box showed up last week.

I'm also in the camp that ordered on Amazon well over a month ago and finally just cancelled it only an hour ago.  I just ordered from B&N.  Price is the same, and they apparently have stock.  Free shipping too.  Amazon constantly said that they could not give a delivery date yet.  Grrr.  Several weeks of that finally soured me.

Anyway, I'm now looking forward to getting mine from B&N.  :)

I pre-ordered on Amazon for $87.00 or so; still out of stock so I cancelled and got two copies locally.

The one I pre-ordered back in November as a Christmas gift for a friend of mine in CA was NOT sent and I did not receive notice until AFTER Christmas.

Can't say that I'm too thrilled with Amazon at this point. I called and spoke to a rep, who then had to get a supervisor, as he couldn't see the issue. The final statement was that they "oversold" the item and were waiting for more stock from the supplier (WotC).

Funny thing is, I got one from an eBay seller and it arrived in my hands PRIOR to the Dec. 17th release date that Amazon had.

Q: Are there different covers for these, as the one I have has an Ampersand "&" engraved, while the images show something more elaborate ... hmm??

Thanks in Advance - Paul
