Does anyone know the date -- as close to the day as possible -- of the release and sale of the first copies of D&D in '74?

Dunno how we'll get much closer to January 1974. Like, what exact day? Yeah....that'll be hard to pin down for sure.

We've seen sets sold with receipts, letters, and inscriptions with dating details, so it may be possible to find some evidence like that, eventually.

Let's just agree it was on the day I was born, and leave it at that.  :)


Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games
