Hello all!

I recently discovered a website that provides data for pricing/sales history on books.  it made me wonder what members use when trying to figure out their "topline" for buying.  I use the Acaeum prices for most items (give or take some percentage for desirability) but also use other sites for reference, checking contents, and pricing.

Here is what I always use when deciding on whether or not to buy an item:  Acaeum (pricing, contents, condition, versions/printings), completed auctions in eBay (pricing), Waynesbooks.com (contents), tsrinfo.net (contents), and Amazon (comparing items for sale, and ISBNs).  I also use a few other "secret" sites for searches (I am in the book industry, so I have access to certain databases that most don't know about - not too helpful for pre-2000 books unfortunately).

I was wondering what places other members use to search for pricing and contents.  Obviously, I'm not looking for member's search tools or formulas, just wondering how people decide what their top price might be for a particular item once found.

By the way, the site I discovered today was called WorthPoint.com.  Not sure about it yet but a few searches produced some interesting results.

I don't use websites to determine value, generally. I value items.

I ask myself a few questions:

1) do I want to resell this? If so, am I willing to take a loss?
2) how badly do I want the item?
3) how much can I afford?

And then I bid based on the answers. If I bid at all.

I just ask a few friends here on the forum, they're all  pretty good at helping me spend my money

I was serious.  Knowing whether to divide by 2, 3, or 4 is the real skill.

Is Legacy RPG a $150 item?  Or am I misunderstanding?
