Hey all-
Was wondering if collectors on this list care if an item is signed.  To be frank, I am a player with a small collection of original modules, but certainly do not consider myself a collector.  At GenCon 2012, I bought a pair of original T1-4 Temple of Elemental Evil supermodules (with maps) at the GenCon auction room.
I have to liquidate most of my gaming items as my wife is going through chemo and I just got downsized.
Is there any change in value to a used (but VG condition) copy of T1-4 if it is signed by an author?   I cannot prove it was signed by him other than my word (since I was standing right there as he signed them).

Thanks for your 0.02.
Tim

Well, Frank is a member here, a regilar visitor when time permits, and given that it was last year, and his name is in the thread title, I'm sure he may be able to corroberate.
Myself, I've never been one for signatures per se, but if something were mint or near mint, and it came signed and authenticated, I'd be willing to pay a premium. In any other condition though, I'd probably only pay over the odds if it were a copy coming from the artist/author's own collection.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

It probably won't make much difference in price - Frank is too available, approachable and well ... still alive.

Gygax signed items have seen a bit of rise in price.

Although I've signed a lot, it's all been done in explosive runes.

I'd give it a shot, I bet someone out there is willing to overpay for Franks sig!  :D  You gotta remember that as accessible as Frank is, he's only that accessible to those of us who regularly attend conventions, or live in population centers in Illinois or Wisconsin. For most others, a Mentzer signature would be more sought after.

I actually have not one but two T1-4s for Frank to sign in a couple of weeks; one is for my grandson, the other will eventualy go into a future NTRPG con auction (along with another copy we have by Frank already signed).

:D   Now you have me warily gazing at my own signed T1-4, Rules Cyclopedia, Lich Dungeon and Roleplaying Mastery.  Here's hoping your expiration date is still many years in the future!

you cast dispel magic, but was it  successful? that's a high-level casting of the initial explosive runes.....

That's the trick really... if you hear of my demise and the autograph is still there -- suspect the news.
