I'm on the phone with Comcast right now due to an SMTP problem. It might be part of a larger SMTP issue.

Did any of your searches include a wildcard character?

I noticed a little while back that Ebay stopped accepting searches for things like "dungeons dragons 197*" or "dung* drag*".

You now have to type in complete words.

No, I "fixed" all that when they made the change.

Part of me doesn't care too much - it causes me to spend less.

I've been using them less since searches for "dungeons dragons" have been turning up things like "Understanding your Child's A.D.D.," or ""DD-1234 Notebook Computer Battery." I used to find off-topic search results funny, even posting the more absurd results here & once bought an "Apple Lane" apple-crate label. Now the joke has worn thin. My email box fills every day with irrelevant trash. I had already stopped buying very much because of various asinine seller behavior, now I'll stop searching as much as I used to.

And then I got six days of saved searches emails all in my inbox this morning.  Super useful!

Obviously, the smaller the want list, the harder it is for something to pass the bar of "interesting," but even trying to consider items already owned, I have noticed that these things seem to go in spurts.  No reason to it, just three people with interesting lots list them the same week, and then nothing special happens for two months.
