International collectors: questions to you for an article

Hello folks

I have to write an article on collections and collecting activities/collectors for a French Magazine, Casus Belli.
I want to do a part dedicated to international collectors/collections. Our community includes most of the biggest collectors so I am wondering if some of you would accept to write a small text describing why you collect, how you started to, and so on.
Several of you have different focus so I am interested in different points of view, especially your motivations on your focus: Brette for fanzines, Blackmoor for minis (if Iam right), Strato for FRPG, Allan on Greyhawk, Frank on TSR (don't you?), Mars on small press, most of you on TSR (Bracton, Badmike, Burntwire broz, faro, etc).

I am interested in words of artists or authors who are here

I know that there is several ones.

I don't think there is anything particularly special in my collection (which is basically just a fairly decent collection of TSR/WotC D&D products from OD&D right through to 4e), but AFAIK, I am the only serious D&D collector on the African continent, so if you are looking for geographic diversity, I'd be quite happy to participate

Here is the main points for International contributors

- How/When/Why did you started to collect?

- Why do you focus on this or this product? What is your goal? How many items do you have?

- Some details about how hard is to collect in your country. Is there a lot of FLGS? Is Internet the only way to find rarities? etc.

- Few details about your country collector community. Are you numerous? Do collectors know each other and trade? etc.

- A general pic displaying rarities of your country.

- How do you store your collection?

- Anything else you want to share.

I will make a compilation about answers on these different points all around the world to highlight similarities and differences between continents (if exist). I have to finish the article next week...

For the moment, I already have/wait for:

- Italie: Axel/Aia (ok). Alessandro/Alexander (ok)

- South Africa: Echohawk (ok)

- Belgium: a friend of mine on CasusNO (ok)

- US: Steve/TheHistorian, Bill/Stratochamp (ok), Bracton?

- Canada: Mark/Mars, Blackmoor, David/Thunderdave

- UK: Steven/redbus, David/faro (?)

- Asia: Ronald/rhynne (ok)

- Austalia: Brette (ok)

I'd like to have (i will PM you)

- Germany: Ralf?

- East of Europe/Russia: who?

- Middle-East: who?

- Brazil: who?

- UK: David/faro (?)

Thanks Loki, I'd be glad to contribute. I only started collecting in 2008, so I can speak to what it's like to build a collection as a newcomer to the hobby.
