I knew the Slave Lords was being re-released with a new entry level adventure:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx ... c/a-series

But I did not know that WOTC were reprinting S1-4 as well!

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Product.aspx ... c/s-series

(apols if I have just missed this one, and everyone else knows :))

Sure... but if you click on the link for the Slave Lord series and read the caption for A4, it talks about everything being destroyed by an Earth Dragon.

So is this being reprinted, or being reprinted for 5E?

LOL.  Well, destruction by the Earth Dragon was part of the original materials in A4, Andrew.  A giant space hamster, on the other hand.... ;)

The thing I found semi interesting was the following quote in the Slave Lords reprint description:

Added to the collection is an all-new fifth adventure -- A0: Danger at Darkshelf Quarry -- that you can use to kick off an AD&D campaign that pits a group of adventurers against the evil Slave Lords! Module A0, designed for levels 1-3, sets the stage for events that unfold throughout the remainder of the "A" series.

I wonder if the fifth adventure is any good?  The original A series has some good moments/ideas and some real stinkers.   :?   Then again, some of us have gone on "fifth" adventures and become totally blasted.   Which gives me an idea for a drinking module.  Every monster you slay, you take a drink.  Every puzzle you solve... You get the idea.  :P

Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.

Danger at Darkshelf Quarry is being written by Skip Williams, who is at least very familiar with the AD&D rules. Curiously, A0 seems to have both AD&D and D&D Next versions, since the one going in the compilation is supposedly AD&D, but there is also a D&D Next Playtest of A0 taking place at Winter Fantasy this month.

What better way to suck in veteran customers than to reprint old modules in anew rules system and add some new material to suck us in.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Speaking of future reprints, yesterday's column on Wizards.com has a poll asking readers to vote on items for reprinting:

http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx ... p/20130117 (scroll to the bottom of the column for the poll. You need an account to vote).

Options:
D&D Rules Cyclopedia
AD&D Fiend Folio
AD&D Greyhawk Adventures hardcover
Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog
The Illithiad
GDQ1--7: Queen of the Spiders
I3--5: Desert of Desolation
T1--4: The Temple of Elemental Evil
None of the above (leave a comment)

Having copycat's suggestion in mind, I voted for Other, and then R1-4 in the comments. It would fit with their inclination to reprint module series, and make playable copies of this series more affordable.

There's also been chatter about some activity at RPGnow indicating they are getting ready to sell the pdfs again:

Just picked up a copy of the Unearthed Arcana reprint today, so I guess that release date of February 19th might be a lil off.  ;)
