I will be brief. I don't post here too often (not in the collecting ranks as the rest of you, which makes me hesitant to post). But--

From the trailers and updates they have provided us, I see one of the best and most respectful historical treatments of the founding of Dungeons & Dragons that I have ever witnessed. I, for one, would really love to see this project fully funded. I can only hope that some of you might feel the same way.

They have four days to go.

Lisa Stevens did a shout-out to the Pathfinder crowd a few days ago to endorse this project.

It might actually make it now.

I'm pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, Paizo gave this a huge bump. It still bugs me though that $150k is just the shooting budget. Editing, mixing, etc. is at $250k, and actually trying to get the film marketed and out there is at $500k. I'm not at all saying those aren't realistic numbers, but it seems a little... disingenuous. If they meet the base goal, they shoot raw footage and then what? Nothing? What's the point?

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

I think the budget sounds very high too.

They just broke $150,000. I have to admit I thought they weren't going to make it. I wonder if the Paizo endorsement is what put them on the map. In any event, congratulations to the filmmakers. And yeah, I backed it a bit as well. I seem to be a real sucker for kickstarters these days.

Yep, it might just end up being their fun little project and never being released. To jump to $500k is a long way!

The point is with a set of raw footage, they could then go to a larger film distributor, or someone else with more money, and shop it around to get it finished.

That's a lot easier to do than to shop around a concept...

I had relook at it and decided to contribute as well. Some of the short clips were pretty good.
