First off, I apologize for taking so long to get this posted. I advertently/inadvertently left the list of the winning group down in Texas. I donated the DM copy of TM3 (used during the winning group's round). Of course, the list of the winners was in that DM copy. Doug graciously "dug" it out and sent me the list. So here we go.

As you can see the scroning between the Friday Morning Warriors and Shark Bait was insanely close. However, FMW actually completed the entire adventure, while SB came very, very close (two rooms). The Texas Terrors (who included several members of the 2011 AD&D Open Championship Team) did fantastic in the first half the adventure - actually outscoring both FMW and SB. Unfortunately, TT has the singular honor the first TPK in NTX AD&D Open Tournament history!

Each team had the choice of selecting from two possible mini-scenarios to start their tournament round - In the Belly of the Beasterbrook or The Cursed White Box of Prufrock. All three teams tackled the Beasterbrook scenario first. All three teams had difficulty in dealing with the drow at the start of that scenario. Moving forward, the first two teams used the drow corpses to feed the great white sharks to the point of distraction. The TT tied ropes to their paladin and bounced him up and down in the eater like a marianette! I have to say, that was unique. All three teams discovered succeeded in completing this section, but only the TT found the secret room with the potions of water breathing.

All three teams made it to the second scenario (which, again, was the Cursed White Box of Prufrock in each circumstance). The FMW worked their way through and managed to secure the cursed whitebox in the final seconds - I think the theif ran with it like a running back to meet Foulfoot while the others battled the Beholder as time ran out. The FMW did avoid an encounter with some ogres and an ogre mage. SB did pretty much the same but ran out of time just prior too discovering the cursed white box. Then we come to TT. For some reason none of them can even recall, they split up early on and both groups came under attack. One group by a pair of Red Slaads and the other group by the aforementioned ogres and a pack of giant weasels. It did not go so well from that point on for TT....

All that said, I had a fantastic time with each group. The dynamics were different with each group and everyone had some great ideas and strategies. I really hope to see you (those who played) again next year!

For those of you who have purchased TM3 Raid on the Acaeum, you may have read the introduction and noticed the reference to the upcoming project, Cataclysm at the Acaeum. I will have a full announcement about this project soon. Some of you can start groaning now, but it will be done under the Kickstarter program. The reason for this is that every participant has the option to have a section of the mega dungeon completed just like the sections you have seen in TM3 Raid on the Acaeum, as well as other options (roving monster raiders, NPCs, etc). As a participant, you get to choose what your section/involvment might be. You don't have write up anything, but you can toss any ideas for your section in the hat and they will be used. Basically, this Kickstarter is a real collaborative project (in a way) - think TM3 on steriods. By the way, you don't necessarily need to know anything about the real Acaeum to be a part of this project - though you may miss some inside jokes and puns! I hope this is not too confusing, but I will post a full description shortly. By the way, it will be a boxed set!
