FormCritic wrote:Is it a standard kickstarter thing to make EPIC and MEGA bonuses that are only available at well above the standard pledge level? For instance, at $25, you get a box of 5 or 7 miniatures (depending on how you read the listing). Then there are additional miniatures available if a certain goal is made...but only at higher levels.1) Is this standard practice?2) At double the pledge I hope you would get double the dwarves.....but is this really a "stretch" goal or just more dwarves for more money? What is the motivation for people to jump in as the campaign builds momentum? At $25, it appears that my extra "stretch" benefit would be exactly zero. Is that right? Why would I jump in at the standard $25 level to add to the project goal when I get zero for doing so? I would describe this as "demotivational." Am I reading this correctly?
FormCritic wrote:There is no benefit to buying into this kickstarter project early or late. You get benefits based upon what level you purchase...period.
FormCritic wrote:The logic of a kickstarter campaign is to build excitement for a project. As momentum grows, more people jump in to take advantage of the growing level of benefits. The more who jump in, the higher it goes for everyone.
FormCritic wrote:In this kickstarter, I would be called on to jump in so that other people could benefit. Wow - a truly tempting offer. Paying more money to get more miniatures is already a familiar model. It is called, "buying something in a store."Aside from the overwhelmingly exciting benefit that I might qualify for incredibly wonderful character sheets , there is no incentive to jump in at the base level. :shaking2:
