'Advanced D&D' on spine

Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere. I have been unable to find anything on it.

The listings for the Monster Manual printings 4A through 5 all state Spine: "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" in white lettering while printing 6 lists Spine: "Advanced D&D" in white lettering.

I have what I believe to be a 4th Beta and a 5th printing of the MM and they both have "Advanced D&D" in white lettering, not "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons."

I'm taking it that this is mistake in the Acaeum listings and not a case of me having two strange copies. Or are there MMs with white-lettered "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" on the spine?


Lord Kilgore was last seen entering the Lost Caverns some years ago...

I'd be curious about this as well.

I've been trying to get all the prints of MM.

The elusive one -- for me -- is the 3rd Beta.
Wizard logo
"Advanced D&D" in an angled yellow banner, top left corner; the red letters of "Advanced D&D" have black highlights, and there's no "TM" designation after it
"Monster Manual" title has moved from lower mid-cover to the top
Rough textured
Spine:
"Advanced Dungeons & Dragons" in red lettering
States "Gary Gygax"


This was the printing I had for most of high school and college, but got lost afterward :-(

It should be "Advanced D&D" for the 4th through 6th MM printings, which in my previous notes on the subject I had merely indicated as "new spine".  Cheers.
