I would like to announce that for the second straight year, there will be an OSR booth at Gen Con! Last year, Joe Browning of XRP did a fantastic job and really gave the OSR a boost. This year, I will be running the booth, with some help from the good guys at Faster Monkey Games.

So far we have some great OSR companies participating including Expeditious Retreat Press, Black Blade Publishing, Faster Monkey Games, Center Stage Miniatures, Frog God Games, Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Henchmen Abuse, Weird Adventures and Pacesetter Games & Simulations. There will probably be more to add to this list.

If you are an OSR publisher, send me an email I will get the relevant information to you.

Just like last year, I am offering up the OSR booth as a nexus for anyone who would like to use it as a meeting place. I will also bring along a whiteboard and you can post information during the con regarding events, open gaming, etc.

For more information, contact me at your convenience at bbarsh@pacesettergames.com

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Is GenCon in the same place each year, or does it move around?
I guess it's named after Lake Geneva (?)

I've heard about this convention my entire life, and I have never attended.

In fact, I've only gone to one gaming convention period.
Whichever one used to be held in Atlanta.

Anyway, sounds particularly cool given the OSR movement that's afoot
:-)

Thanks
Keith

It's now in Indianapolis (having moved from Milwaukee and from Lake Geneva in the past).  Info @ http://gencon.com/2012/indy/default.aspx

That was it ... Downtown in one the high rise hotels. A Marriott, I think.
Quite a while back, too.  Early 1990s.

Getting close now. I will post a list of publishers soon.
Also, there will be a white board at the booth for use by anyone who wants to post OSR happenings at the convention (i.e. You are running game and need players, looking to meet someone, etc).

Just got off the phone with Eldritch Enterprises and they will be a part of the OSR booth!

Gen Con is upon us and the OSR Publications booth will be at location 1359. Please come by and visit the booth and pick up some great old school products. While you are there you may run into Tim Kask or Frank Mentzer - they will both be at the booth on and off during the convention. There are sure to be many other OSR personalities at the booth during the convention, so come by and visit often.

Dragon con is still around, its usually over the labor day weekend.

Having said that, last few times I went were terrible. There was only one
Gaming dealer (troll and toad) and the game playing itself was pretty
Lame, as the head of Dragon con has some sort of issue with WOtC.

Of course, if you want to get on your best twilight or Harry potter costume,
you can look like 80% of the other con attendees:)

Sorry if that sounds a little bitter, but the old great days of Dragon con are way long gone for us gamer types:)

When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know, the end result is tyranny and oppression no matter how holy the motives.

Gen Con has been over for a couple weeks and I have finally put some time aside to announce the...

After Gen Con Sale

Here is your chance to pick up some great products that were available at the OSR booth this year. The best part is that you can order a variety of products from a fantastic group of publishers - and if you order $50 or more, the shipping is FREE! Just download the attached product list, make your selections and email it back to bbarsh@pacesettergames.com. You will be invoiced and your products will be mailed immediately. Please note that quantities are limited - in some cases, I only have a few copies available for purchase.

Could you explain the product difference between the $20 and $25 version of "Monkey Claw?"

Or maybe I saw that wrong.

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

Dang, an error. It was discounted on the last day of the convention. But I don't actually have any of them (or the Tracker Tokens). I only have the modules from Faster Monkey. Thanks for pointing it out.
