I was on ebay earlier on today, idly clicking on things. I have a few auctions running currently and checked buyer feedbacks, just out of curiousity. I noticed one bidder had quite a number of recent purchases, including a few from crimsonpermanentassurance. Knowing Kynan's items are generally pretty rare, I checked to see what the bidder had bought.

It turned out that on one day, January 22, he bought 23 items from CPA - including 8 Wee Warriors items, an ST1, a Lore Bot5A, a Kuntz manuscript, and more.

Tallying up the auctions, the total was just north of $10k - all in a single day. I won't post the bidder's name to protect the innocent, but just.... wow. A tip of the hat to you sir. Fantastic work.

I know I've seen large one day purchases in the past from some big hitters on ebay, usually centred on the Collector's Trove type auctions for Gygax, Kuntz etc collections. But I think $10k is the largest I've ever seen spent - and on regular production items, not memorabilia. Assuming of course that Kynan didn't give some kind of volume discount, which I guess he very well may have.

Has anyone seen anything rivalling that? Or been lucky enough to be the seller in similar cases?

My tax refund did come in today (well, Federal, NYS can suck it afaic), but my purchases will be somewhat less extravagant.

Probably the most I spent on RPGs was at a convention years ago in New Jersey. A gamestore set up in the sellers room and was getting rid of old stock. Everything was between .50c each for modules and $3 for boxed sets. I filled the station wagon I was driving, drove home, unpacked, went back and filled the station wagon again.



As for things like Wee Warriors and rare oddball RPG items, there was a woman selling them dirt cheap on ebay years ago. Her husband had three sheds filled with the stuff. She dumped two of them before selling the contents of the third on ebay. I think Badmike might remember her, but I've forgotten her name or ebay ID. I've always wondered what things were in the sheds she dumpstered.

but also the most fun ever though. specially when frank and tim start mentioning names because they know exactly who the bidders are - thats hilarious!
