How do you search the archives?

When you use the search function here, how do you locate the exact thread that contains the term/s you searched for?  There must be a better way of doing this than I'm aware of, because whenever I do a search it just comes up with, like, "Collecting General: Recent Fun Finds", for example.

Usually doing a search by posts works better.
