Thought I was getting a 1st print (1977) Homes from NK off ebay.

What I got is:

Cover: lizardman logo, code F116-R upper right

Int. Cover: Wizard logo & Games Workshop logo/Nov. 1978 listed

Back: Games Workshop catalogue, with prices.

Is it possible someone just stapled a UK cover onto a 2nd Ed. Nov.1978 print? Reason I say is, center page has come loose from staples, which are not at all rusty.

Maybe it is a 4th UK print?

Yes, it seems to be the 4th UK print. Which, on the insides, is the same as the US version.

Unfortunately, it was listed as a "First Printing" and I BINed it on that assumption. I wanted the original WM tables, and Hobbit useage!

:(

Before the NK haters pile on, I'll just say write to them and explain the issue.  I'd be surprised if they don't make it right.

FWIW: My issues with Noble Knight Games have nothing to do with hating anyone and it is not personal and for that matter I do not hate the company; Why would I?
I do however dislike the seemingly commonplace practices that continue to bewilder collectors on e-Bay and on the NKG Web Site as well.

At least there is not much difference in perceived value (assuming it is complete) from a 4th print UK Holmes and a 1st print US Holmes?
Even so, Sheese...

This instance continues to demonstrate that NKG is most certainly not the place it had been at one time.

rant over

I agree with TheHistorian.
I would write them and ask them to correct this error.

FWIW, I use to buy regularly and in pretty heavily from NKG's back catalog, on account of their postage being reasonable and their packaging on international goods being excellent. I only stopped buying from them when they stopped caring about their descriptions and it appeared that what you buy and what you receive had a higher than average likelyhood of being different.

Yes, Aaron will fix it, and probably absorb the costs of returned postage etc. I expect they are still honest and diligent about fixing the errors they create. I don't expect we'll see lies and false tracking information and fake proofs of delivery being created as some people have claimed to have experienced at the hands of Troll & Toad.

Aaron will fix it. But it is another false listing, and given the sheer volume of erroneous listings, it makes you wonder whether they are emoloying educated people to do these listings or just handing it over to some agency of data inputters.

I have received emails from NK and they are "on it". Thus far, I am not displeased with their apparent willingness to do right.

My query was more along the lines of "What is it?"

As determined, it is, essentially a UK 4th print. Which, for all practical purposes, contains the identical interior content as the US version 2nd Edition, Nov. 1978. Of which I now have 4!!

Keeping my fingers crossed. Will let y'all know how it turns out.
