Mythus RPG ?

I was just curious if anyone could school me on this. I've never heard of this, although I admit that I've stayed in my little 2nd e D&D bubble during my playing days...
I found a book in like new condition by Gary Gygax called Dangerous Journeys... think it's a core rulebook for this "Mythus RPG".
I picked it up for $10.00... should I have left it there ?

Actually the name of the game system is Dangerous Journeys, Mythus being the core rulebook for said system.  It is from the 90s, it was Gary Gygax's attempt to compete with TSR after being ousted.

Can't really comment on the quality of the system nor on the collectability.

The system is okay but not the best.  Overall, I think the books are not as collectible as maybe they should be.  They are fairly easy to find for a reasonable price.  The bestiary book usually sells for a bit higher than the rest.  The Necropolis book was later retooled as a D20 Hardcover book published in the Sword & Sorcery line.  Note: the DJ Necropolis book came with a pullout poster map that is often missing.

The hardest thing(s) to find are probably the Mythus Master Magazines (of which I think 6 were released) and the slip sleeve case. I'd say my personal favorite items for the set are Mythus Prime and Necropolis.

I also greatly like the unpublished horror expansion -- Unhallowed, which was graciously provided to me a while ago in electronic form.

These were also distributed as electronic magazines and if you look around you can still find those copies in the dusty corners of the internet.
