It is a beautiful piece of art. Valerie Valusek is one of my favourite D&D artist, if someone here knows how to contact her (apart from Facebook) and/or knows if she accepts art commission, please leave me a pm.

I tracked her down a few months ago and she told me she doesn't want email & other contact methods shared.  She stated that she wants other fans to contact her via Facebook (I had specifically asked if I could share contact info).

If you don't get a response via Facebook that is not too unusual - she doesn't respond reliably to email either (not much of a computer nerd ;-) .... you just have to keep trying, I guess.

amazing amount of info there, but can't help but think that it feels wrong to post it on a public forum. (feel free to disagree, but I don't think I'd be happy if it were my personal details being bandied around , though perhaps I'm just a super-sensitive guy :D )

Wrong?   What's wrong with the guy posting it one post after I said I'd been in contact with her and she didn't want people contacting her outside facebook  :?

I have to tell you that it looks like Scept only posted a shred of what is available. There is a way to do simple "background" check on people that is basically free and gives you pages of information. Lawyers use it all the time. There is a real name for the search, similar to a credit check. I recall seeing one on a subcontractor that skipped town on me years ago. It was about 10 pages long and listed pretty much everything about the guy including dozens of known / possible relatives with related contact info. It had every known address the guy ever lived at. Lots more. Now that is scary stuff.

She should contact the US white pages and get herself removed from their database (if that is even possible).  This is the standard information that comes up when you do a search for anyone.

It's silly to have a public facebook page that lists her relatives (Father, Mother, two brothers, etc), friends, where she works, when/where she went to school and expect her information to be kept private.

A Google search won't normally get you this information.  But you can use deep web search engines like www.pipl.com and it will bring up a lot more crap than usual.  I dont think you can get email addresses and other private info but current and former street addresses and phone numbers are out there for just about anyone to grab.  And I dont think its that easy to get that information removed either.

My wife works for an insurance company and they have access to this sort of information but its still limited.  If I'm not mistaken Scketre used to be a police officer and might still have access to more than what most people have.

Yeah, me too.

Normally this is exactly the info you get when you do a google search.  Its what I use when I want to track down an author for some small press book.  I usually then send off a letter or two and leave it to them if they want to email me back, etc.  Email addresses are usually more difficult to find.

I think all of this info probably comes from filing your taxes in the US.  In Canada, you get a lot of this info too as well as things such as whether your education tax money goes to the public school board or the Catholic school board, the lot and parcel information for your property, etc.

Yeah but for me Google's results are spotty and broken up so much I may have to search through possibly hundreds of individual entries to find specific things I am looking for.  Pipl.com and other deep web search engines clean it up for me considerably.

Yes, that is true especially when the person you are looking for has done a number of other things listed on the net.

Normally, this information shows up in the first few google hits.

I also said she ain't much of a computer nerd which means like most people she probably doesn't know how to set Facebook privacy settings.   Facebook intentionally makes it difficult to draw more suckers into their government-backed pyramid scheme to track everybody :-P    (wheres the tin foil hat smiley when you need it?) PDT_Armataz_01_11    .... close enough  ;-)

Anyway, I did my duty and warned ya ... she wants to be contacted on Facebook.  If somebody shows up on her Doorstep and peeves her off and ruins it for the rest of us, they can kiss my grits :rabbit:

Public info isn't flawless, but still scary that so much is readily available. According to such PI sources, my father is married to my sister and living not only at my house, but hers as well. My mom is my sister.

And we're not living in a Deliverance-like environment.

And I'm wondering how my name got tied in to hair salons... anybody who has seen me knows I'm not in need.  :?
