Here is the new topic if there is any discussion needed on reprinting old stuff.. the Pros & Cons

How do you buy any of the digest things, or are they only available to at NTRPGCon? Is there an outlet so that members can buy these things?

These replicas are HALF Sized, dated 2011, and watermarked on every page.
They could NEVER be confused from an original.

I never said they would be confused with the originals.

Yes, I really do think that. The e-mail I received about the auction cancellation stated that the owner of the copyright requested that the listing be removed. And don't be such an ass. Considering the level of stupidity displayed all around on this one, "redicule" from you about my sense of the situation is inapposite at best.

And I cannot believe anyone would truly think that these 91 research copies would have ANY negative effect on ANY of those 50 DMs copies of the originals.
If anything (if I did own one of the originals) I would be thrilled to see those research copies being sold and can easily picture those research copies widening the market for originals through exposure alone if nothing else.

I suppose that's another perspective. I have no real sense of whether that's true or not. I was just suggesting that greater or lesser peeve might be the reaction of someone who owned one.

Good luck with your dealings with them. I can see them (deep down) not really caring about it happening, but they would have to do something to protect their IP. If they let this one through, anyone holding an RPG con would/could be printing their original tournament releases.

I didn't realize they were given to people that "donated" to the NTRPG. I guess I misread that over on your forums.

Tourist Trap was by Dennis Sustare.

So far we have never printed more than 50 copies of Dennis' stuff since for whatever reason it sold real slow... so I just kept it 50.

We are allowed to print up to 75, just haven't had the demand

guess I can create a new "auction" for 2nd prints of Dennis' module and see how the demand is and reprint some of those.

but for 2010 we only printed 50 of the Ursigned, Sealed & Delivered

Actually I heard from them today because I tried emailing the perosn I have been trying to ask (VP of Legal) and she actually responded today...  so I made the contact, not them

I think eBay thinks it carries more weight it if appear the "owner" reported it.

I know I have seen these before where there is no longer an "owner" of a product (maybe an estate owns it),  but someone reports the violation and you get the same email about it.

Doug is correct, "Owner of the copyright" email is a canned response. I actually got it once for an item that I sold where I was in constant contact with the copyright owner, and he didn't report it.

Mike, that WAS the 2nd print being sold at RPGMarketplace.com

you missed out and now you are asking for a 3rd print and want to buy 10 copies... talk about watering down the print run !

Last year PotVQ took 6 months to sell out, we only sold about 25 at the Con...

So I decided to only print 100 of the DG since I had no clue how may would actually sell (25% at the Con is not a reason to print more)

We sold 56 at the Con this year, but many people got others tickets that didn't want to buy them (last year, not tickets.. I just kept a list of who bought what, which was a pain) so more sold at the Con... but since last year they could ONLY buy one, that many many that sold after the Con were probably to some of the same people at the Con.

Still trying to sell 44 after the Con this year, I figured it could take a while... okay it didn't.

But I had already stated that we would only print 100.

If we decide to print something next year (possibly Misty Isle) then we may look at a larger print run... BUT, Misty Isle came out as a Digest booklet and it is way less expensive than PotVQ or DG to begin with... so does it really need a reprint ? we will see... may only do 50 (I don't even collect Misty Isle so I don't see the value for a TSR collection)

Next year will tell based on any feedback/requests I get.
