I hope I don't put anybody's nose out of joint with this post, that isn't my intention.  I have wondered for a while now why the threads related to some non TSR modules are here in collecting general while others are in Non-TSR. I realise that these modules are designed to be compatible with AD&D but they are surely "non-TSR" and belong with other OSR stuff in that forum don't they?

EDIT:  I've tweaked the thread title a bit to perhaps make it appear less antagonistic.  I actually mean what I said in my first sentence.

I think it's because General Collectiing is where all the general discussion stuff goes on, and that is the most appropriate place for new pubishers, or people asking about international shipping to post their threads.

There is no specific TSR section, and the non-TSR section isn't specifically D&D either, but covers all manner of collecting, loosely limited to RPGs and boardgames. So it is the nature of the forum and the reletively small membership that dictate that the four or five main sections are better than a whole list of suction headings.

I also frequent ay local RPG gamers forum, with an active member ship of maybe 50 or so, and regular posters down at about 12, any yet they have some 30+ seperate sections on the board, all with their own threads within, and the whole board gives the impressing of being dead.

At least with everything in a small number of sections, the forum has quite a free and easy feel about it.

I certainly see your point and I think it's completely valid. Logically, that is where those posts probably belong. But here comes the "but."

The GC section has always acted as the announcement section of the forum. From new releases to the Acaeum limited edition art threads. Now if you want to start a thread reviewing a product such as one of my modules, or any other non-TSR publisher, then the other section would be the place to do so.

I just think the GC section is our "general" announcement HQ. If that is not appropriate, then I am not going to fight it. I just do not want to see endless subthreads that create a maze. I know I hardly ever scan through the endless array of subthreads on most forums because it is just too tedious.

I for one am glad comments are disabled for the Classifieds section.  If someone with only one or two previous posts started listing their ridiculously high priced BIN's there, I would have no choice but to ridicule them.  I'm sure everyone would get sick of that real quick.
