May 18, 2011 - Pacesetter Games & Simulations and Center Stage Miniatures have teamed-up to produce U1 - Dark Eye of the Hurricane, a First Edition quick play module which will be available June 1st in the online store at www.centerstageminis.com.

U1 is the first in a three-part series of modules available exclusively through Center Stage Miniatures. The series picks up 30 years after the official "U" series ends.

"This is a great way for Center Stage customers to learn about the fantastic adventure modules Bill Barsh makes available through Pacesetter," said Matt Solarz, owner of Center Stage Miniatures.

This product not only includes the written module, but miniatures to go along with it. The complete set is $29.95 and includes 1x Lord of the Eyes miniature and 3x Sea Devils, as well as the 8-page module with color cardstock cover. Limited to 100 copies, U1 will not be reprinted as a stand-alone module.

"When Matt first approached me with this idea I immediately jumped on-board. This game is a visual game and pairing a module series with a fantastic miniature line is not just a great idea, but something that has to be done," said Bill Barsh, owner of Pacesetter Games. "Center Stage produces many of the old-school miniatures people want to see, and I'm pleased to be working with them on bringing the original "U" series to a new conclusion! This series is not for the weak of heart. After all, the first module features a lord of the eyes, and it gets nastier from there!"

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Looks great Bill, Matt.

Will you offer this early like the your other modules through the customer loyalty program?

Since Center Stage is handling sales and shipping and this is different from standard Pacesetter offerings, I can't imagine that Bill would make it a "requirement" as part of his CLP.

However, if any Pacesetter customers on Acaeum or other sites wish to reserve a copy, please email me at centerstagehobbies@yahoo.com with your shipping and PayPal information and I'll hold a copy for you. Once the mods are in hand, I'll send you an invoice for the totals.

Hopefully this will be beneficial for Pacesetter CLP customers who wish to order a copy, as it is truly a "limited" product. Bill and I haven't discussed any reprints at this point, and personally, I am not in favor of reprinting this as a single module. Ultimately, that's up to Bill.

Thanks, Jeremy. Let me know if you want me to hold one for you. I'm really excited to be working with Pacesetter on this one, and the preview I've seen is top-notch.

Matt

It looks like the retail on the minis are $11.50 for the beholder and $10.95 for the Sea Devils so the module comes in at $7.55.

Is the module available without the minis?

But for those of us with no use for (what appear to be very fun) minis, it may as well be $30 for a module.

I've been toying with ideas on how to make the module available to those who don't want the miniatures, but that kind of shoots the whole idea of cross-promotion right in the foot.

Perhaps Bill and I can figure something out to make everybody happy.

Oh come on guys.  You don't blink an eye when spending hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on stuff but you balk at a measley $30?  I dont even like miniatures and I'm in.  :D

I just gotta ask one question Matt.  How will you package the minis so they dont rub against the module or each other and get damaged?

Just to be 100% clear, this is NOT a CLP item.

I'm guessing the minis won't fit into a flat rate envelope which generally means the shipping also jumps from $12 to $25.  I generally don't like paying $55 for a $10 module.

I'd be more interested if a bunch of minis could be shipped to Bill and then I could multipack it with the other items that are coming out soon.

Or, since it is supposed to be released at NTRPG, you could get Blackmoor to pick you up a copy and he can ship it to you when he gets back home.

Because of the minis, the package would still need to be shipped as a parcel which has a min cost of about $15 CAD from Calgary and that's like $20 US these days ;)
