To Autograph, or Not to Autograph... that is the question.

I've been a collector of too many things in my life, and over the years I've heard alot of different opinions about whether or not an item goes up in value if it is autographed. Now, what is the case with D&D merchandise? Does it go up in value? I wouldn't mind that. Does it ruin the value of the item? I wouldn't dare want it... either way, I'd just like to know.

Oh, and for the record, "BEST WISHES - GARY GYGAX" is an autograph, meaning NO personalization. Thanks in advance for your help folks.
