Hi there.  I am very happy I eventually found this collectors forum.  This is really a great site all around.  I am now looking for, and hoping to find the single most active forum for discussion of AD&D from a playing-it perspective (as opposed to collecting it).  I have steadfastly refused to play anything other than 1st edition over the decades and in the last ten years I simply have not played at all.

Any recommendations on active forums for us curmudgeonly players?

And probably the first time those words have been uttered on this site...

There are a couple other places to look, but DF is the best bet for folks still interested in dissecting rules and such.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

Not necessarily. Dragonsfoot has a lot of fluff on it. If you're really looking for by-the-book, die-hard AD&D 1st edition, knights-n-knaves.com is probably your best bet. It has a somewhat insular atmosphere, but they're friendlier than most forums as long as you aren't there to proselytize for another edition.
