Ok, time to get the official Pacesetter Games & Simulations Campaign Setting started. All past and future PG&S modules will be set in this setting. Of course, all can easily be placed in just about any setting and most were originaly designed for either Greyhawk or the Known World.

I need a name for the setting (world in general). I figured a contest would be a great deal. If you are the winner, you get a free copy of the setting when it is published next summer, credit, and one three free copies of any PG&S module of your choice (CPL module not included).

Here is a basic sketch of the setting. Basically, the campaing is Greyhawkish. Large continent is 60/40 forest/desert. Small continent to the east is old worldish that has suffered a cataclysm and is infested with undead, though there are inhabited areas near the coasts. South continent is 25% desert on north side with the balance a jungle.

By the way, you can post general comments here, just not  your official name submission.

Are you after something like Shadowrun or Dragonlance?  Name of setting that isn't named after a place or an Ebberon type name that sums the whole lot up?

That actually sounds catchy if a bit egotistical.   :D

It's not nearly as egotistical if it comes from someone else.

I'm trying to win here!

Here's a bunch:

Granderra
Grandeera
Klantyj
Ingar
Deera
Dragaria
Helnoc
Li Mestan
Fenoria
Tris
Tri Lands
The Curious Lands

of course with variations of
World of ...
or ... World

Are there any characteristics of the game you'd like to evoke?
Eg by using violent sounding words/syllables like Harsh or pleasant words like Dream?

I like the string of islands leading south.  They would form a trade route and nests for pirates.

My suggestion would be to vary their size just a little more...since they are all quite large...and move more of them right or left to give the chain a more natural look.

In the final map there will be 100 or more "charted"  islands in the chain. There are many more uncharted, smaller islands.
The chain (which is its name) will have a variety of "sites" and inhabitants.

Can you explain the events that led to those chains of islands? Because if it is tectonics, I'm not believing it.

On no my friend!  This was created when this giant with super skinny legs, and huge feet, was running from another god and was shot in space by his pet Martians with lasers *insert Mike Myers Dr. Evil voice here* and landed on this planet (named Barshterra, by the way    ), and over the past 500,000 years the waves have washed away most of what was the "legs."  Of course, none of this can be proven.  It's all a part of the strange and wonderful mythos.

Legend also has it that he was running away because he had stolen something rare, magical and powerful, and it's still in his "pockets" to this day.  *insert Ooooo's and Ahhhhh's here*  However, the legends don't say whether this item was in his shirt pocket or pants pockets.     I guess you'll have to explore this place and find out!   :P

My first thought when I saw them was the Aleutians or the Ryukyus.

In their context on the map they look like the western-most remnants of a sunken land mass.

They need to be more irregular in size.
