I acquired this Dan Frazier piece a few months ago. Was wondering is any of you know where it was published. The only thing I know about it is that it may have been published in Dragon Magazine. My Dragons are out of reach for the moment. So I would appreciate your help.

Could be Dragon, but I recognize it vaguely so it probably was printed somewhere else.
Looks second editionish...

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Thanks for the help. You're quite the goto person for identifing unknown art.

Very much appreciated. May I ask your technique for finding where it was published?

I wish I could say that I have a Vulcan memory that stores every iota of information presented to me, but sadly I have to resort through issue/page flipping.

However, I did know that Frazier's work started appearing in the upper 100's - 200 for Dragon. So that helped narrow the field.

edit: I don't always get them nailed down so quickly...I'm still looking for one particular one that Deogolf posted a while back. It's frustrating since I know that I've seen it somewhere, but I just can't locate it! :shaking:

However, I know I have seen it somewhere else other than the Dragon because the odds of me actually looking through 186 are between slim and none. I think the last Dragon I opened had to be in the 120-130 range.

btw that reminds me, there is a method I tend to start with to track down art and authors.

If you go to

www.pen-paper.net

and type in the artist's name, you'll (hopefully) get some kind of credit list. It's not necessarily comprehensive -- as in the case of Jim Holloway, among others -- but at least it's a start.

For instance, for Dan Frazier

it doesn't mention that particular Dragon article from 186, but it does mention Dragon 180 (cover) and 196 (interior), so it may narrow down the "range".
