Don't want to keep hijacking the EO thread so I figured it was time to start a new discussion thread about community projects or commissions.

I say, any ideas should start this off. We've started with artwork and thanks to the EO committee they pulled off a minor miracle and have produced a real treasure.

I love prints and artwork, and I definitely want to see more, but such things need not be the only projects we work on for the acaeum community.

Here are some ideas:

A commissioned adventure module
T-shirts with either artwork or logo for the acaeum
Character Illustrations for acaeum members
An acaeum ring or button

Some things seem like they would be easier to produce than others, while some seem much more expensive. But this is just an ideas stage and any ideas are welcome as well as a developing list of potential artists.

Personally, I'd stick with a Ring of Gaxx.

It is too bad the post office isn't doing those illustrate your own stamps anymore.

Merchandising is overdone, but I still get a kick out of some of the TSR D&D stuff that came out.

T-Shirts seem a very feasible project. Artwork would be nice rather than a simple logo.

Or if we took the path of another art print as a big project which artist would people like to see?

Easley? Wham? Darlene? any ideas?

I know Tom Wham fairly well, and I think he might have a different take on this.

Tom's humble attitude is reflected in his preferences regarding sales, publicity, and pricing of his artworks. He is devoted to Boardgames of all sorts and rightly takes pride in that craft. But despite his unique and exceptional talents as a cartoonist, he repeatedly insists that his desire is to keep prices low so everyone can enjoy his works, not merely collectors. For him, they're just too easy to create.

Tom's down-to-earth and easygoing attitude is remarkable. I respect him highly and if anything can channel more money his way, that'd be great. Boardgame sales are rare; he works in a library (and is semi-retired).

Were Tom to have a voice here, I'm sure he'd want to offer his strength -- a custom-designed and hand-made boardgame of some sort (for appropriate compensation) -- rather than an artwork, which he perceives (correctly or not) as having less Worth.

Hey Frank,

I'm not sure what you mean when you say a 'different take on this.' Do you mean a limited print like the EO project? This thread is open to any ideas so anything Tom Wham would be available to do could be a possible project. I'm sure down the road another Art Commision project will be done, perhaps it will be the next acaeum community project, but it doesn't have to be.

I know it is a commonplace thing, but I like the T-shirt, decoder ring, button ideas as fairly easy and doable projects, but a boardgame, cartoon, or really anything is possible at this point. It would be nice if it were something though, and something people would really like to see done.
