I have cast lead/pewter hexagonal bases for Battletech mechs and I'd like to stamp 5-6 letter designations on the front chamfer of these hex bases. Like letters about 2-3mm high.

So what I'm wondering is how I would go about getting a set of letters I can use to stamp into the lead/pewter, and just how I'd go about doing it. I suppose I could resort to dry transfer letters and varnishing over them, but a pressed indentation would be more subtle and professional a finish.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

This company (near me) makes anything to do with stamping metal. They might make something you could use. Probably cost prohibitive though.

I got tons of hits and they seem relatively cheap.

Cheers Guys.
2mm high punches seem to be about right so I might give them a go.
